Whiplash is a condition of the neck that usually results from a car accident, a fall or other movement that results in hyperextension or hyperflexion of the neck. It usually involves a sprain/strain of the cervical muscles and ligaments.
Symptoms of whiplash may include a limited range of motion of the neck, neck muscle tightness, swelling, headache, neck pain that travels down one or both arms, inability to lift the head up from the pillow, visual disturbances, dizziness, and vertigo.
Treatment of whiplash-associated injuries depends on the severity and type of whiplash you may be experiencing, hence why a thorough examination will be conducted prior to treatment. Depending on your case, X-rays may need to be taken on-site sight to visualize the area. Chiropractic Treatment for whiplash may include manual adjustments, soft tissue therapy, mobilizations, and rehabilitation.
