What To Expect

The First Visit: Case History, Physical Examination + First Adjustment

From the moment you enter our clinic, to the moment you leave, we do all that we can to make sure we have delivered you with wonderful service.

On arrival to Wellsure you will be greeted by one of our wonderful Chiropractic Assistants who will guide you through the necessary paperwork required for your first appointment. Our Chiropractic Assistant will also provide you with a brief description of where to find the toilets, water machine and provide you with a brief background regarding our clinic and the services we offer.

Once the new patient intake forms have been completed our Chiropractic Assistant will take you to one of our consultation rooms where you will meet your Chiropractor. During this consultation the Chiropractor will conduct the following:

1: A case history detailing:

The primary reason for seeking Chiropractic Care
Any prior physical traumas, impacts or knocks.
Current medications or previous surgeries.
Any family history of similar conditions.
Your current lifestyle: Active/Inactive, average daily water intake, smoker/non-smoker, stress levels,
Occupational History: Office/labour intensive.

2. Physical Examination:

Your physical capacity will be assessed using a combination of:

Postural findings, Front and side views.
Movement, flexibility and balance tests.
Muscle and nerve tests.
X-rays will be performed only if there are signs of the following:
1. Disc injury,
2. Neurological signs,
3. Pronounced postural findings or scoliosis,
4. A history of concerning trauma (such as car accidents and broken bones).

3. First Chiropractic Adjustment/Treatment:

Upon completion of your initial consultation, our Chiropractor will guide you through their findings, including the nature and cause of your presenting issue. Provided your case is one we can help, you will recieve your first Adjustment/Treatment on this first visit.

This first Adjustment/treatment may include:

Manual and/or low force Adjustments (depending on the specifics of your case).
Soft tissue release, if required.
Drop piece or other adjustment techniques (again depending on the specifics of your case).

At the conclusion of the initial consultation & depending on the nature of your presentation our Chiropractors may suggest you schedule for a follow up Report of Findings Visit.

Follow Up Visit: The Report Visit

On the second consultation, the Chiropractor will go through what is frequently referred to as your “Report of Findings”. During the Report of Findings visit the Chiropractor will spend time to discuss the main findings taken from your case history, physical examination findings , x-rays (if x-rays were taken), as well as your response to your first Chiropractic Adjustment.

During the Report of Findings visit your Chiropractor will also outline your specific recommendations for care, which may include how often the Chiropractor wants to see you along with specific exercises for you incorporate. The goal of the recommendations will be to restore function by correctly removing the source of the problem.

Our team of Chiropractors in Caloundra want you to feel your best, and your progress towards optimal spinal health will be consistently monitored. Progress reports may be scheduled so that comparative postural exams can be performed to illustrate your improvements or where a little more work is required.
